CBC the Way It Was Meant to Be

Kenya's Competency-Based Curriculum is built around one powerful idea: children should demonstrate what they can do, not just what they can remember. At Impact, we take this seriously. Our CBC programme is genuinely activity-based, not textbook-based with a CBC label stuck on it.

Every lesson involves hands-on activities, group discussions, projects and real-world applications. Your child will spend less time copying notes and more time actually doing, making, experimenting and presenting. That is what CBC was designed to look like.

We cover the full CBC framework including core competencies, core values, and all learning areas from the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD) designs.

What Makes Our CBC Different

  • 01 Genuine activity-based learning — Every lesson includes a hands-on activity, experiment, role-play, project or discussion. Not just read-and-answer.
  • 02 Small class sizes — With a maximum of 12 learners, teachers can genuinely facilitate individual learning, not just manage a crowd.
  • 03 Portfolio assessment — We maintain detailed learner portfolios that track competency development over time, not just test scores.
  • 04 Core values embedded — Responsibility, respect, unity, patriotism and other CBC core values are woven into daily activities, not taught as standalone lectures.
  • 05 Digital literacy integration — As part of CBC, we incorporate basic coding, digital skills and online research from Junior School upwards.
  • 06 Parent involvement — You receive regular updates and are invited to project presentations, giving you a window into your child's actual learning.
