The Competency-Based Curriculum done right. Activity-based, practical and aligned to KNEC standards from Grade 1 through Senior School.
Kenya's Competency-Based Curriculum is built around one powerful idea: children should demonstrate what they can do, not just what they can remember. At Impact, we take this seriously. Our CBC programme is genuinely activity-based, not textbook-based with a CBC label stuck on it.
Every lesson involves hands-on activities, group discussions, projects and real-world applications. Your child will spend less time copying notes and more time actually doing, making, experimenting and presenting. That is what CBC was designed to look like.
We cover the full CBC framework including core competencies, core values, and all learning areas from the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD) designs.
GRADE 1 – GRADE 6
Literacy, numeracy, environmental activities, CRE/IRE/HRE, movement and creative arts, hygiene and nutrition. We focus on building strong reading, writing and number skills through activities children actually enjoy.
GRADE 7 – GRADE 9
Pre-technical, pre-career studies, and the full range of optional subjects. Students explore different pathways before specialising in Senior School. We guide them through subject selection based on their strengths and interests.
GRADE 10 – GRADE 12
Students specialise in one of three pathways: Arts and Sports Science, STEM, or Social Sciences. We deliver the full Senior School curriculum and prepare learners for KNEC summative assessments.
Transitioning from 8-4-4? Many parents worry about switching their child to CBC mid-stream. We have helped dozens of families make this transition smoothly. Our assessment identifies exactly where your child stands and we build a personalised catch-up plan. It is more straightforward than most people think.
