Sports, arts, clubs and community service. Because a complete education goes well beyond the classroom.
Academic qualifications matter, but they are not enough on their own. Universities and employers increasingly look for people who can communicate, collaborate, lead and think creatively. Those skills are developed through co-curricular activities, not just through studying.
At Impact, co-curricular activities are not an afterthought squeezed into the last 20 minutes of Friday. They are a scheduled, valued part of the weekly programme. Students choose from a range of options each term and are encouraged to try new things, not just stick to what they already know they are good at.
For IB students, co-curricular activities feed directly into the CAS (Creativity, Activity, Service) requirement. For CBC students, they support the value-based and talent-driven aspects of the curriculum. For everyone else, they are simply enjoyable and character-building.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITY
Football, basketball, volleyball, swimming, badminton, table tennis and athletics. Coaching focuses on skill development, teamwork and sportsmanship. Inter-house competitions each term keep things competitive and fun.
CREATIVITY
Choir, instrumental lessons (piano, guitar, drums), music theory, drama and theatre productions. Students perform at school events and have the option to prepare for graded music exams.
CREATIVITY
Drawing, painting, sculpture, photography and digital art. Students build portfolios and enter their work in school exhibitions. Art is also available as an IGCSE and IB subject for those who want to take it further.
COMMUNICATION
Formal debate, impromptu speaking, Model United Nations and public speaking competitions. These activities build confidence, critical thinking and the ability to construct persuasive arguments under pressure.
INQUIRY
Robotics club, science club, coding club and maths challenge. Students work on projects, enter competitions and explore STEM topics beyond the curriculum in a relaxed, curiosity-driven environment.
SERVICE
Organised visits to children's homes, environmental clean-ups, charity fundraising and peer tutoring programmes. Students learn that they have the power to make a positive difference in their community.
Also available: Chess club, cooking club, French club, book club, yoga and mindfulness.
The best activity for your child might be one they have never tried. Give them the chance to find out.
