Where Strong Readers Become Strong Learners

The primary years are where habits form. A child who reads fluently by age 9, who understands number bonds and can write a coherent paragraph, is set up for everything that follows. A child who falls behind in these years spends the rest of their education catching up.

At Impact, we are obsessively focused on getting the basics right. Our primary programme covers CBC, Cambridge Primary or IB PYP depending on your preference. Across all three, the priority is the same: make sure your child can read, write and calculate with confidence before moving on to more complex work.

Small classes mean teachers spot difficulties early. If your child is struggling with fractions or phonics, we know about it within days, not at the end of term when the gap has widened.

Core Subject Areas

📖

English Language

Reading comprehension, grammar, spelling, creative writing and handwriting. We use a structured reading programme with regular assessment to track progress through reading levels.

📐

Mathematics

Number operations, fractions, decimals, geometry, measurement and data handling. Concrete-pictorial-abstract approach ensures children understand concepts before memorising procedures.

🔬

Science

Living things, materials, forces, earth and space. Weekly practical investigations develop observation, prediction and recording skills that prepare children for secondary science.

🗺️

Humanities

History, geography and social studies. Children learn about Kenya's history, world civilisations, maps, environments and communities through projects and discussions.

🌐

Languages

French, Swahili and other language options. Starting a second language in primary school gives children a significant advantage and comes naturally at this age.

💻

Digital Skills & Coding

Basic computer literacy, internet safety, introductory coding with Scratch and simple robotics. Not just screen time, but structured digital competence development.

Primary classroom

Transition support. When your child is ready to move from primary to junior high, we prepare them thoroughly. For CBC students, this means readiness for Grade 7. For Cambridge students, it means Lower Secondary readiness. We never leave a transition to chance.
